Spring Mill Distillery
A modern steam solution for a 181-year old distillery
Local Guelph institution, Spring Mill Distillery is a family-owned distillery with a commitment to creating premium spirits. They use time-tested technology to keep the spirit of traditional distilling alive and since 2019 Miura’s steam solution is a key part of that tradition.
Rising from the ashes of the War of 1812, the Spring Mills Distillery was a key part of re-building the community of St. David’s, Ontario in 1836. 181 years later the brand was resurrected by the the Sleeman family who sought to revive Spring Mill once again by relocating the distillery to the site of the former Allan’s Mill & Distillery in Guelph.
The architecture of the historic former mill meant there were a few key requirements when choosing the right boiler for this facility. Since no structural changes were permitted to the building, all equipment needed to fit the existing room size. The new boiler must have a very small footprint, be high efficiency, low emission and needs to have local support.
Enter Miura’s complete boiler room solution. A highly efficient Miura LX boiler fits perfectly with its small footprint and NOx emissions of less than 20ppm. With our preventative maintenance package providing monthly visit from Miura tech to check on water chemistry to maintain the boiler at its best.
We have recently received our new LX-150SG Miura Steam Boiler that will be installed at the Spring Mill Distillery in Guelph, Ontario.
