Award winning and earth friendly Toronto Beer makers, Mill Street Breweries has been making high quality and organic beers in Toronto for nearly twenty years. Founded in Toronto’s historic Distillery District in 2002, Mill Street outgrew their original brewery space and expanded their Toronto facility.
Mill Street’s brewhouse kettle stack is equipped with a heat recovery system, which can heat more than 15,000L of water per day to 90°C – without any additional energy input. Mill Street’s Miura LX-series, Low NOx On-Demand Steam Boilers are used to create the steam that transfers heat indirectly to process equipment such as the Brewhouse Kettle, CIP (Clean-In-Place) Systems, and Pasteurizers.
Before purchasing their Miura Boiler, the facility’s previous steam boiler had reached the end of its useful life. As the demand for steam grew to approximately 12,000 lbs/hr, it was imperative to purchase an On-Demand Low NOx Steam Boiler to meet the demand and provide redundancy to the system to ensure continuous and efficient operation of the brewery.
The experience working with the Miura team has been great. From reaching out with a Request for Quote, through the purchasing process, installation, and after-sales support, the Miura team has always displayed a high standard of service, communication and knowledge of their equipment.
