Beating slow downs and inefficiency with double Miura LX-200s
Expanded polystyrene (EPS) products have become one of the most popular closed cell thermal insulating materials in building and construction applications. Due to EPS’ predictable characteristics and price/performance ratio it is commonly specified by engineers and architects as an ideal choice for green buildings.
One of Canada’s leading manufacturer of expanded polystyrene,
EPS Depot, is set to become a leading supplier of energy efficient and environmentally friendly expanded polystyrene (EPS) products. To that end it makes sense that they use steam produced by Miura’s LX-series Low NOx Boilers.
A Miura LX200 boiler has been in operation at EPS Depot since the facility started in the early 2010s. After running for many long years, the boiler needed a tube bundle replacement. At the same time EPS Depot had been planning to increase production and was considering providing redundancies to their system to facilitate continuous production.
Miura not just supplied a new 200HP boiler and pressure vessel for EPS Depot’s existing boiler within a month, but also supplied our fully equipped
rental boiler trailer, which allowed EPS to continue with production during the boiler room upgrade.
With 2 Miura LX200 boilers on hand the EPS Depot facility is fully equipped to handle future demand increases and fight redundancy with steam always available.
